1Who is responsible for the data
The operators of Dugri ("we") are the database owner and are responsible for the personal information described here. For any privacy matter, write to dawnaibusiness@gmail.com.
You are not legally required to give us information. However, without purchase details and licence activation we cannot provide a subscription.
2What stays on your computer
This is the core of the product. Transcription runs on your computer, with a model that is downloaded to it.
- Audio is not sent anywhere. Recording happens when you use the hotkey and is processed on your computer. No Dugri server receives your voice.
- Transcripts are not sent anywhere. The text is typed straight into the app you have open. What that app does with it is governed by its own policy. To type the text, Dugri may briefly use the clipboard.
- History and statistics are local. The list of dictations, the recordings you can play back, and statistics such as word count, words per minute and day streak are stored in the Software's data folder on your computer. You can delete a dictation from within the Software, or delete everything by uninstalling and removing its data folder.
3The information that does leave
- Purchase and billingName, email, country and billing address for tax, and payment details. These are collected by Polar and its payment providers. Card details do not reach us. We receive from Polar the customer details, the plan, the subscription status and the licence key.Party: Polar Software Inc.
- Activation and licence checksOn activation and on periodic checks (about every 12 hours) the Software sends Polar your licence key, the activation ID and the computer name. The Software shows only the last 4 characters of the key.Party: Polar
- Onboarding answersOn first run you can answer three short questions: how you found us, what you will use Dugri for, and how much you work with AI. You can skip them. If you answer, the answers are sent with the activation and appear to us in Polar next to the customer. We use them to understand our audience and improve the product, and we do not sell them.Party: Polar
- Bonus weekDuring the trial the Software counts on your computer how many words you dictated. When you reach 5,000 words, it sends our server your licence key, the activation ID and the word count, so that we can extend the trial with Polar. The text itself is never sent.Parties: Vercel and Polar
- Engine downloadOn first run the speech model file is downloaded from Hugging Face. In such a request your IP address is visible to the download site, as with any download from the internet. No content from your computer is sent.Party: Hugging Face
- The websiteThe Site is hosted by Vercel, which records basic request data on its servers (IP address, browser type, request time). The Site has no advertising pixels. The PostHog statistics tool runs on the Site only if you accept in the cookie banner (see the Cookies section).Party: Vercel Inc., and PostHog Inc. only after consent
- Contacting usIf you write to us we keep the message and your email address to handle the request.
4What we use information for
- To provide the Service: activate licences, verify subscriptions and bill.
- For support and to answer requests.
- To prevent misuse and sharing of keys beyond what is allowed.
- To improve the product and understand the audience, in aggregate where possible.
- To comply with legal duties, including tax and accounting.
We do not sell personal information, we do not advertise, and we do not train models on your voice or text, because we have no access to them.
6How long we keep it and how to delete it
Billing data and invoices are kept as long as the law requires, including accounting and tax duties (in Israel, usually up to 7 years). Activation data and onboarding answers are kept while the licence is valid and for a reasonable period afterwards. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle them.
You can ask us to delete personal information (other than what we must keep by law) at dawnaibusiness@gmail.com. The data on your computer is fully under your control and you can delete it at any time.
7Security
Communication with Polar is encrypted, the licence key is stored on your computer, and we minimise the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection. If a security incident that requires reporting is found, we will act as the law requires.
8Your rights
Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, you may review the information about you that we hold, ask us to correct inaccurate information, and ask us to delete information that is no longer needed. Write to dawnaibusiness@gmail.com and we will reply within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. To protect you we may ask you to verify your identity. Information held by Polar can also be managed through its customer portal. You may also complain to the Privacy Protection Authority.
9Minors
The Service is not intended for minors under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian, and we do not knowingly collect information about minors.
11Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the product or the law changes. The date of the latest update is at the top of the page, and a material change will be posted on the Site.
